To keep your liferaft in good condition, have it annually overhauled by an approved life raft service station.
You can do some checking and maintenance yourself
check if the storage container is broken or cracked.
If yes then patch it temporarly and contact nearest service so the container can be repaired.
Never wash the container with high water pressure witch may penetrate sealing strips.
Check bands and pins for rust, clean and grease the pins if necessary.
Check if raft sits tight in its storage position, so it cannot be washed overboard.
Dont forget your hydrostatic release unit, together with a liferaft give it annual inspection.
Newer types do not need servicing, they have a lifespan of two years and then simply replaced with new ones.
